Remembering Derreld May 31, 1945 ~ July 2, 2000 This, the very first web page I've made, is Dedicated To my Brother Derreld, With All My Love. Your smile lit up our nights, Your laughter filled our days. You had so much good in you, And amazing wonder in all your ways. I'll never forget the good times we shared, Nor can I forget the sad. But the good always out weighed the bad. Derreld You're My Hero, The one who got us though. You went to Vietnam and came back a Stronger, but different you. I watched you age and struggle though lifes ups and downs, Never once did you give up, you fought hard until the end. I'm so very proud of you, my precious brother, my friend. Life was hard from the time we were little, But your laughter got us through. I wouldn't trade you for the world, In the end it was just me and you. It broke my heart to let you go, But I saw you were getting tired. I whispered to you, go if you want too, it's okay, Mom, Dad and families there and I'll be there too someday. It's been 5 years and I can't forget, That day burnt deep into my heart. I tried so hard to be strong for you, but July the second in 2000 the Angel's pulled us apart. Now there's a big void that no one can ever fill No one can take this pain from me, But Derreld Memories of you still bring a Smile to my life and fill me with strength still. I thank God each and every day, That I was blessed with you. No one could have a better brother, That I can stand and proudly say. Now light the streets in Heaven with your smile, As you guard them day by day. And know someday I'll join you, I know your light will guide my way.
